This month, we’re listening — honoring Minority Health Month by centering the voices and experiences too often overlooked in healthcare. In this issue, we explored disparities in brain aneurysm and AVM care and shared powerful stories from Kene Iloenyosi, Zee Alexie Lane, Omaima Aladwani, Redonda Williams, and Shafiqah Goins.
We also highlighted research from Dr. Muhammed Amir Essibayi on the serious impact of untreated anxiety and depression after diagnosis, and featured advocates Chantal Micale and Shivika Srivastava—reminding us why representation and equity in care matter. We also included an update on marathon runner and AVM survivor Tanner Pierce.
